Character Profiles
He is the leading noble of the Second Princess Ariel’s faction and orchestrated her temporary downfall by arranging for her to study at Ranoa Magic University after the Fittoa Region Teleport Incident. He also planned to switch sides to Dalius, the leading noble of the First Prince Grabel’s faction, as insurance in case Ariel’s position weakened during the royal selection.
His wife became fed up with him and left him.
On Ariel’s way to Ranoa Magic University, he investigated the truth of the rumor that someone had attacked Ariel, leading to her death. After receiving reports that Ariel had been killed on a path called the “Dragon’s Beard,” which leads through a valley known as the “Red Dragon’s Jaw” in The Red Dragon mountain range, he made the decision to defect to the First Prince’s faction.
In reality, the one killed was a body double of Ariel. However, the information broker intentionally withheld this fact from Pilemon to receive a reward, which exposed Pilemon’s calculations to protect himself and his position.
Pilemon had long held a grudge against Saros Boreas Greyrat. After the Fittoa Region Teleport Incident, Pilemon conspired with Senior Minister Dalius to advise the then Asura King to issue a decree for the execution of Sauros, the surviving head of the Boreas Greyrat family, as a way of holding him responsible for the destruction of The Fittoa Region.
In Chapter 18, believing that Ariel had no chance of winning, he sent his assassins to assassinate her but failed.
He attempted to switch sides back to Ariel when Grabel fell from grace but ended up infuriating Ariel. However, he was spared execution when Luke, who had aimed his sword at Ariel, intervened.
He was subsequently placed under house arrest in his domain and relinquished his position as head of the family to Luke, with his older brother serving as Luke’s assistant.
