The main protagonist of the story. A brown-haired male born in Buena Village, Fittoa Region, of the Asura Kingdom. On the cover of the books, you can see a teardrop-shaped mole under his left eye. His true identity is that of a reincarnated individual from modern-day Japan. In his previous life, he was a jobless recluse and a NEET (lived to the age of 34).
He was born into a reasonably affluent family as the third son (with an older brother, older sister, and younger brother). During his childhood and middle school years, he was highly regarded by his family and classmates. However, during high school, he intervened when the most infamous delinquent tried to bully his classmates, which led to intense bullying against him. This caused him to become a shut-in.
After the death of his parents, he was kicked out of the house into heavy rain for not attending the funeral. In a daze, he saved three high school students, including Nanahoshi, from an oncoming truck but was fatally hit. After that, he was reborn into the Six-Sided World as one of its inhabitants.

- In the timeline of Old Rudeus, a curriculum for teaching magic without incantations was introduced in cooperation with Ranoa Magic University.

- Intermediate in Sword God Style. Beginner in Water God Style (almost forgotten).
- After Paul’s death, while continuing training, he has given up on becoming strong through swordsmanship.
- By using the Precognition Eye, he can defeat high-level swordsmen without magic.
- He possesses the “Laplace Factor,” which is the reason for his high magical power but inability to wield Battle Aura.
- He received the Demon Eye from the Demon Emperor Kishirika of the Magic Realm.

- Hobby is making dolls using Earth Magic.
- Worships Roxy as a goddess and offers prayers to her panties as a sacred object.
- Rudeus usually doesn’t get angry easily, but if anything related to Roxy is insulted, he quickly becomes enraged.

- His beloved staff, the “Proud Water Dragon King (Aquahartia),” was received from Boreas’s household on his 10th birthday.
- In Chapter 16, his family is taken hostage by Hitogami, leading him to challenge the Dragon God Orsted. In preparation for the battle, he crafts a magic armor. After being defeated and surrendering to the Dragon God Orsted, he sets the stage to confront Laplace 80 years later and Hitogami 100 years later, alongside Orsted.
- According to the Dragon God Orsted, in the original history, Paul and Zenith’s eldest son was stillborn, and Rudeus (Jobless Reincarnation) entered that void. The reason for the stillbirth was speculated by Dragon God Orsted to be that the soul couldn’t withstand a body capable of containing the total amount of magical power due to the Laplace Factor.
- In the year 481 of the Kouryuu Era, an announcement was made of the death of his wife, Sylphiet Greyrat. She passed away from old age, peacefully concluding her 74-year-long life in the comfort of her own bed.
