Although born in the Doldia tribe and the heir of the chieftain, she was known as the village troublemaker and outcast. She was sent to a traveling swordsman for training before the age of 10 to learn the way of the sword.
Later recognized as a practitioner of the “Sword God Style” and bestowed the title of “Sword Saint”, she joined the ranks of adventurers. However, due to her rough personality, she was rejected by many adventurer parties. She was eventually taken in by Paul’s party, “Fangs of the Black Wolf”.
After the disbandment of the party following Paul and Zenith’s marriage, Ghislaine found herself jobless and destitute.
She was saved from starvation by being employed as a bodyguard and swordsmanship instructor for Boreas Greyrat’s family, particularly for Eris.
She refers to Eris as “young lady” but switches to calling her by her name “Eris” during swordsmanship training sessions.
When Rudeus came to Boreas Greyrat’s family as Eris‘s private tutor, Ghislaine and Eris both learned various subjects from him, such as magic, arithmetic, and reading and writing. Ghislaine holds great respect for Rudeus and considers him her mentor.
She taught swordsmanship to Rudeus as well, but recognizing his lack of talent for the “Sword God Style”, she intended to introduce him to the “Northern God Style” instead.
Appearance
She has a beast-like appearance with uneven hair and tanned skin.
She has animal ears and a tail.
Her body is well-trained, bearing scars from countless battles.
Rudeus once touched her tail to verify its position while making her figure, and he jokingly commented that her tail was stiff.
She has a Demon Eye embedded in her right eye, which she usually covers with an eyepatch.
She wears revealing clothing that prioritizes speed and ease of movement, typical of the “Sword God Style”.

She often uses masculine speech and maintains a rough demeanor. However, Rudeus is aware that her true feelings are often conveyed through the movement of her tail.
Despite her earnest attempts to fulfill her duties and responsibilities, she struggles with memory issues, especially when given multiple instructions. Under extreme stress, she can lose the ability to distinguish friend from foe and go into a rampage.
Her former companions often describe her as “muscle to the brain” and mention her usefulness limited to making binary choices based on instincts.
She has a firm understanding of the theories and knowledge of the “Sword God Style” that her mentor drilled into her and can provide logical explanations regarding swordsmanship.
She was the frontliner of the “Fangs of the Black Wolf” adventurer party. At the time, she couldn’t read, write, or perform calculations, leading to constant teasing from her peers.
Her weapon is “Hiramune”, one of the seven sacred swords of the “Sword God Style”.
She learned the importance of studying after a life-threatening experience of joblessness and starvation. After Rudeus taught her reading, writing, and arithmetic, she regularly reviews to prevent forgetting.
Among the instructors who trained Eris in swordsmanship, Ghislaine is the only one who managed to defeat her. As a result, Eris respects and fondly remembers her.
After the events of “The Fittoa Region Teleport Incident”, she trained with Geese in the Demon Continent to further develop her swordsmanship.
She was sent to a conflict zone after “The Fittoa Region Teleport Incident”.
Following “The Fittoa Region Teleport Incident”, she experienced a mental breakdown, losing her sanity and going on a rampage. She was eventually calmed down by Bigo Mercenal.
She later aided in Markien Mercenary Country’s uprising, leading to the demise of the kings of “The Kingdom of Dict” and “The Empire of Broads”. She also helped create legends of the Forest Goddess Laine.
While trekking on foot, she encountered and defeated the culprits responsible for the deaths of Phillip and Hilda.
Upon returning to the Fittoa Territory, she assisted Alphonse, the butler, in supporting the surviving members of the Boreas Greyrat family’s retainers at a refugee camp.
When Eris abandoned the Boreas name and fled, Ghislaine accompanied her to the Holy Land of Swords.
After seeing Eris off as she married Rudeus, Ghislaine completed her duties as a Boreas Greyrat family retainer.
Subsequently, she followed Rudeus’s advice and became the personal guard of Asura Kingdom’s second princess, Ariel, to seek revenge against Sauros. She later defeated the prime conspirator, Senior Minister Darius. She chose to spare the other foe, Pilemon, due to various reasons.
She is recognized as one of the Asura Seven Knights, responsible for the right-wing attacks among the knights.
