Served as the highest-ranked Sword Saint of the Sword God Style. Yielded the title to Jino Britts.
Known as the strongest swordsman of the Sword God Style, ranking sixth among the Seven Great World Powers.
Guides the next generation of swordsmen in The Holy Land of Swords.
Master to Eris and Ghislaine. Although Nina Farion is his biological daughter, he doesn’t allow her to be his direct disciple due to her lack of combat experience. Instead, she receives training from Sword Emperor Timothy Britts.
In his younger days as a Sword Saint, he was defeated by Orsted, and this past experience led him to the Sword God’s Holy Land. He identifies with Eris, who came to defeat Orsted. He took her as his direct disciple after Ghislaine, who was the last person he took as a disciple before Eris.
A few years after Eris left The Holy Land of Swords, he was defeated by Jino Britts and relinquished his position as Sword God.
Appearance and Attire
He wore a leather coat granted only to those above Sword Saint rank in the Sword God Style.
He sports a fierce countenance that can be likened to that of a wild beast.
Character Settings
Within the Human race, he is considered the fifth strongest among the Seven Great World Powers, alongside Randolph Marianne.
Displays an arrogant and rough demeanor, with a short-tempered personality. He despises wastefulness above all else and strives for efficiency and rationality in everything, making him a pragmatist.
While sharing the same surname as the first Sword God, Al Farion, they are not blood-related.
Collecting swords is his hobby, with his beloved sword being one of the Seven Swords of the Sword God Style, the Cursed Sword, “Windpipe.” When he was defeated by Eris, this sword ended up in her possession.
He bestowed upon Eris the title of Sword King, full mastery, and one of the Seven Swords of the Sword God Style, “Hougaryu-ken,” along with a secret technique to counter the Dragon God.
Driven by his desire to leave a mark after leaving The Holy Land of Swords, he cooperated with Geese in his efforts to assist Hitogami.
He impersonated a messenger from the Biheiril Kingdom and guided Rudeus to the Sperd tribe’s settlement, where he severed Rudeus’s arms and pushed him into the valley.
He participated in the Sperd tribe’s extermination, leading to a battle against Eris and Ruijerd.
When he took in Ghislaine, who had been expelled from her village and the forest as a troublemaker, he patiently drilled her repeatedly until she grasped the techniques. He was particularly attentive and encouraging to those he saw potential in.
He was illiterate and had to rely on others to write letters for him.
Combat skills
Orsted is a god-class swordsman who can master all the techniques of the Sword God Style, Water God Style, and North God Style. He can also wield all the techniques of these martial arts styles with his bare hands, surpassing the skills of Gal Farion by far.
In the battle of the Superd village, to ensure victory, he used the water god-style technique, Nagare, to deflect Eris’s Longsword of Light. However, Ruijerd blocked the second strike, and Eris subsequently bisected him.
Unable to win against the Sword God Style’s ultimate technique, the Longsword of Light, and defeated by Jino Brittz, he realized he had lost his confidence and strength as a Sword God. Recognizing how he had become trapped by the position of Sword God, he decided to pass on the cursed sword, “Windpipe,” to Eris and met his end.
His fierce countenance could be likened to that of a wild beast.
He was known as the “Fastest SwordMan of the Generation” and boasted pure human-speed swordsmanship.
His combat style adhered faithfully to the Sword God Style’s fundamental principles, focusing on taking the initiative to win. With his unmatched sword speed that not even Water God Reida could parry, he could gain the upper hand against most opponents, exemplifying the Sword God Style’s philosophy that winning was possible if he struck first. However, due to his low defense, he was the only one among the Three Great Styles’ leaders who couldn’t defend against Rudeus’s long-range wide-area magic.
He had aptitude in other styles as well, and it was said that he could reach an emperor-level equivalent if he trained in the Water God Style.
Philosophy and teachings
He attributes the weakness in others to their lack of insatiable desire and their failure to be selfish, according to Ghislaine and other Sword Emperors.
He arranged for various martial artists from different styles to train Eris in The Holy Land of Swords. This was a measure to prepare her to confront Orsted, who is a master of all sword techniques.
He believed that the sole purpose of martial arts was to become stronger, showing no interest in fame, power, or wealth that often accompanied it. He held the theory that it was the dirty desire to obtain something that truly made a person stronger, and he believed that becoming stronger and acting selfishly was the essence of life.
He would often tell his disciples, “If you pursue rationality to the utmost, you can surpass me, but you won’t be able to defeat opponents like Orsted who exist beyond rationality,” and he understood that his own strength fell short of being a “true monster beyond human comprehension” like the top-ranking beings.
